Sloppy Jofu recipe
These are quick, vegan Sloppy Joes!
Ingredients
1 lb firm or extra firm mashed tofu
1 tbsp oil
¼ cup chopped green pepper
1 clove minced garlic (or ½ tsp garlic powder)
2 tbsp minced onion
1 pinch chili powder
½ - 1 tsp hot sauce
1 tbsp jalapeño pepper (optional)
1 tsp mustard
1 cup water
¼ cup catsup
2 tsp apple cider vinegar
1 tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp brown sugar
2 tbsp minced parsley
Pepper to taste
Buns or bread (toasted recommended) and fixings
Directions
- Heat oil on medium heat in a large frying pan
- Fry garlic and onion for 5 minutes
- Fry tofu, green pepper, and jalapeño on high for 5 minutes
- Add all other ingredients and simmer until desired consistency is achieved (about 10 minutes)
- Serve!
